Madam Celestina Atsiagli

Madam Celestina Atsiagli is the Founder and Co-CEO of Emmacel Foundation. She conceived the idea of Emmacel Foundation years ago when she realised that Shama Junction and its sister towns were still miles behind many of their counterparts across the country.

Before joining Golden Star Resources, she was the Community Relations Officer for the Forestry Commission's Wildlife Division at Takoradi (Elubo). She is currently the Environmental Engineer at Golden Star Resources in Ateiku-Akyempim Mines, where she organises science-related events for schools in the Mine's catchment area during World Environment Day celebrations and serves as quiz mistress for the Golden Star Mines Science Quiz competition.

She is a pioneering member and the Public Relations Officer of the Golden Star Ladies Club, involved in career guidance for schools in the Ateiku-Akyempim communities and many other humanitarian and health-related services. She is a member of Women in Mining Ghana (WIM).

Madam Atsiagli holds an MSc in Environmental Science from KNUST, Kumasi and an honours BSc in Biological Science from the University of Cape Coast. She also holds a certificate in Environmental Management from the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa, and is certified by the Ghana Minerals Commission as a Superintendent in Health, Safety and Technical competence.
